Our Dream - Schools for Africa Project
Since we began operating in Mozambique we have had a dream to help make a difference in the lives of the local rural communities surrounding our concessions. After researching how and where we can best help we came to the conclusion that to make a long lasting and effective impact we would need to start with the younger generations. At first we were under the impression that the Mozambican Government did not have the resources to to effectively provide the youth with an adequate education however this is not the case. The Mozambican government does supply remote villages with teachers however the issue arrises when it comes to adequate facilities.
We knew where we could help. By building a school we could provide the local children with the education they deserved safe from the African sun, rain and wildlife that makes its way through the villages posing a risk to young children. We began by building one classroom in our Chaora Bassa Concession roughly 20km from our Nhenda camp that could fit the local primary school students aged between 7 and 12 in the area. We then added an office for their teachers where important paperwork and educational material could be stored. For the very first time in their lives the children of the Cabassa Safaris Primary school were able to learn under a solid roof and on a cement foundation. We also provide our Cabassa Safaris Primary school with benches, chairs and learning materials such as booklets and stationary.

Today our dream continues. We want to build 12 classrooms across all our concessions that provide our local communities with adequate, safe learning environments and materials. Our biggest obstacle is not physically building the schools or finding the right materials but transporting these materials to the remote areas in Mozambique
We invite everyone who is able to, to be part of this exciting community project. We hope to construct 2 more of these classrooms in 2021 and many more in the future. This is your chance to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of underprivileged children across all of Mozambique.
If you are able to make a donation to our Cabassa Safaris Schools for Africa project you will receive an exclusive newsletter detailing where your dollars have been spent and the progress being made.
